Website redesign

Modernize a website without losing what it has already earned: its visitors, its Google rankings and the links pointing to it.

The problem

An outdated, slow or hard-to-update website ends up working against the business. But a poorly prepared redesign can wipe out pages that Google took months to rank: URLs changed without redirects, deleted content, forgotten tags.

That is why I start with what already exists. Everything that already brings you visits and inquiries is inventoried and protected before the first mockup.

What I do

Inventory of existing pages
Pages, visits, queries and inbound links, based on Search Console and a full crawl of the site.
URL decisions
Keep every URL that can be kept, and justify every change.
301 redirect plan
One old URL, one new URL, with no chains and no blanket redirects to the homepage.
New structure and design
Site structure, mockups and content rethought around what your customers are looking for.
Controlled launch
Redirects, tags and indexing checked on launch day.
Post-redesign monitoring
Indexing and rankings checked in Search Console in the following weeks.

How it works

  1. Scope

Positioning audit and target audience analysis before the first line of code.

  2. Design

Data structure, technical choices and site structure defined before the first screen.

  3. Develop

Custom code or no-code: the right tool for the deadline and the technical debt you can accept.

  4. Optimize

SEO architecture is part of the project, not a fix added afterwards.

  5. Test

Every page checked on mobile, across browsers and under load before launch.

  6. Deploy

Hosting, domain name and handover set up so the client stays independent.

Frequently asked questions

Will I lose my rankings?
A redesign almost always causes fluctuations while Google crawls the site again. What causes lasting ranking losses is URLs changed without redirects, useful content deleted or pages that have become inaccessible. That is exactly what the redesign plan prevents.
Do I need to redo everything?
Not necessarily. An audit sometimes shows that fixing the existing site is enough. A redesign is justified when the technology, design or structure prevents the site from evolving.
I no longer have access to my website or domain name.
This is common when a former provider handled everything. The first step is to recover your access, before starting anything else.
